A word from Author Eugene Banks
Seeing the footage of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd’s murders really did something to my mental. I found myself randomly having emotional moments. I developed a lot of anger and frustration. I knew if I was having these strong feelings, I could only imagine what my students were feeling especially my Black Boys.
I found myself really having the urge to speak life, love, and positivity into my son and my students in every possible moment. Then a thought came to my mind. I wanted to figure out a way to speak positivity into Black and Brown boys all around the world. With that thought, the children’s book Young Black Boy was created. I’m so excited for you all to see this project!
